Who needs a visa to study in Switzerland?
Students who have a EU/EEA or a UK passport do not need to apply for a student visa. All other nationalities will need to apply for a student visa at the nearest Swiss Embassy or Consulate in your country of residence and book an appointment for a visa.
The visa process will take from 6-10 weeks so allow time for this when applying.
IMPORTANT: All students need to apply for a residence permit and register as a foreign resident within 14 days of arrival in Switzerland the school administration and boarding will provide all the help you need with this before you arrive and once you are here.
Arriving in Switzerland
Once you have applied
Once you have applied for either the Preparatory Year or IB Diploma, you will receive an offer letter with the invoice to make the payment. Once the initial payment is made, your place is reserved and you will receive a receipt and acceptance letter.
If you need to apply for a visa, contact your nearest Swiss Embassy or Consulate to start the process and this takes from 6-10 weeks. Once the visa application has been made, let us know so that we can follow the progress from our side.
Further details will be sent closer to the starting date concerning arrival details, what to bring and other useful information. A pick-up can be arranged at either Geneva or Zurich airport.
Coming to campus and induction
On arrival day we can meet you at the airport and this can be arranged in advance with the admissions office if required. Boarding students should arrive the Sunday before classes start to check into their accommodation and day students should arrive on the first day of term.
Their are no classes for new students on the first morning of the new term and students will follow an induction programme with ice-breaker events with teachers and new and returning students.
For the first week, new students will pair up with a returning student which is a great way to become accustomed to your new surrounding and feel at home.
